A-Moe (sometimes written 'A.Moe', 'A Moe' or Amoe') is a Norwegian "BubbleDeath" group. A-Moe are most well-known for their song "Little Red Riding Hood" which was included on their 2005 album "Beauty and the Beast."
A-Moe has many of the features of both Traditional and Contemporary Bubblegum, with cute topics (Little Red Riding Hood), and sweet female vocals. Based on Fairytales, A-Moe does however have a darker side. This is brought about by the harsh 'grating' vocals of the "Wolf," and the heavy dance beats. The Wolf's vocals have reminded many fans of the harsh vocals of Death Metal music, and so arose the description "Bubbledeath."
A-Moe's two members, Natalie Davadi and 'Wolf' (Alex Moe), are pictured above. In all publicity shots for A-Moe the male singer appears as the evil looking "Beast" with a white face, red eyes, and a more than generous amount of black makeup. Alex Moe is the main song writer and producer behind the A-Moe project, and wrote the majority of the songs on "Beauty and the Beast".
Unique Style
Many of the songs produced by A-Moe are in the style of bubblegum dance, with a more drastic sound brought about by the deep harsh sounding male vocals. You could even exaggerate and call the unique style of A-Moe "bubblegum dance with a tad of death metal".
Beauty and the Beast
The aptly titled debut album of A-Moe was released in May 2005. The album features 11 songs, including a cover of the famous Judy Garland song "Over The Rainbow" from the Wizard Of Oz, and 5 Extended Remixes. A-Moe is published by House Of Scandinavia. The album was recorded at Lightning Studios and is copyright Nordic Records.
Official Biography
Once upon a time there were a little orchestra from the charming city Trondheim in the middle of Norway named A-Moe. They released a song named “Mom is Home”. Throughout the kingdom young people danced happily to this catchy song and they bought so many singles that A-Moe were awarded both Gold and Platinum Trophies for the enormous sales. You may believe that A-Moe were satisfied with this and just wanted to sit back and live happily ever after. Then you’re wrong. This was only the beginning …
Here comes the next chapter. This time A-Moe have been inspired by the amazing Grimm tale “Little Red Riding Hood” and wrote this new song. “Come here, don’t be scared. I’m lying in my bed with my big ears and big mouth…” again they entered the official sales charts. Just before Christmas 2004 A-Moe traveled to the highland of Scotland and was so inspired that the “wolf” wrote a new hit single called “Bagpipe”. In February 05 the debut album “The Beauty And The beast” was released. So watch out for the beautiful and sensual Natalie Davadi and the dark & mysterious Wolf.
This is truly the beauty & the beast!
