Blue Monster was the name of a bubblegum dance project from Sweden that was aimed at children. On their official Web site, they described themselves as being "a mixture of Aqua and Sesame Street." Blue Monster is a perfect example of Traditional Bubblegum.
Blue Monster was lead by two vocalists, a large Blue Monster (left), and Bikki Girl (Anna-Clara Blixt Modin ). The majority of Blue Monster's songs were written by Adam Edelmann and Anna-Clara, and produced by Adam Edelmann. Their songs are fast, sugary, and fun - typical bubblegum dance. Blue Monster was co-produced by the same people who produced Yumm Yumm. In their years active, Blue Monster released a number of dance songs, their most popular/well-known probably being "Snow Monster."

Web site
Blue Monster's official Web site used to be located at www.blue-monster.com. However, it was removed in early 2005, and was not updated in its 2 and a half years active, suggesting that the project might have been abandoned in early 2003.

Album Release / Discography
An album release was definitely planned for Blue Monster. According to their Web site when it was up, in 2002, "Blue Monster and Bikki Girl have signed their first contract with a major record company. A CD has been finalized and will be released, initially in Asia, by Avex." (see screen shot above)

Biography
(from the now extinct www.blue-monster.com)
Blue Monster and Bikki Girl are two fascinating characters who together create and experience many humorous and thrilling adventures. The concept could most easily be described as a mixture of Aqua and Sesame Street.
The characters
Blue Monster is a funny and unpredictable character who does whatever comes to mind. He’s a crazy guy who is very easy to fall in love with. He’s a symbol for fantasy and the ability to do whatever you wish.
How old is he? Nobody knows, and actually he doesn’t remember himself. He celebrates his birthday every now and then – sometimes even twice a week!
Bikki Girl always stays close to Blue Monster. She’s 23 years old, sparkling with life, and is full of energy. Bikki girl gets inspired by the monster’s crazy ideas. Being human, her personality is rather more normal, which makes it possible to build some kind of structure into their crazy adventures.
Career so far… (as of 2002, this information is out of date)
While waiting for Blue Monster and Bikki Girl to show up on your TV screen or favourite radio channel, you might like to know what they have been up to so far. Last summer, they performed on stage in a major concert, appearing with artists like Robyn, DJ Mendez and Jennifer Brown. This event was produced and televised by Z-TV.
Also, Blue Monster has been the main character in a commercial for Del Monte which was shown on MTV, and has appeared in several comedy shows. He has even entertained The Nobel Prize winners during the Nobel Prize Ceremonies in Stockholm.

Anna-Clara Blixt Modin is the founding member and CEO of ACB Production, now StagePool, in 1998. She studied Cultural Science at Stockholm University and Theatre Science at Vienna University in Austria. She has also followed a musical training at Kulturama in Stockholm and worked as a performer in such acts as Blue Monster.
Name: Anna-Clara Blixt.
Profession: Founder and president of StagePool.
Lives: Stockholm.
Background: Cultural science and the music program at Kulturama. Stage musical artist, TV host in Germany, guide for Stockholm Sightseeing, has worked on ZTV and Wegelius Television. Also works on the project Blue Monster, a childrens concept within the eurodisco genre that has been launched in 15 countries in Asia.
Anna-Claras top three fairytale characters to look up to:
Pippi Longstocking. "She's fearless and do her own thing."
Toffle (In "Who Will Comfort Toffle?" by Tove Jansson) "If you don't go to people and say hi, they won't know you exist. Don't sit around and wait for things to happen by themselves. Bite he Groke in the tail! You can do it!"
Ronia the Robber's Daughter. "She's as strong and independent as Pippi, but warmer and not as crazy. I also do those screams in the spring that Ronia does."
Adam is a songwriter / producer from Stockholm, Sweden. He has worked as the song writer and producer of Blue Monster. He resides in Studio 002 of Playhouse Studios. Apart from writing and producing he also studies at The School of Audio Engineering in Stockholm.
Recent work [in 2002] includes a remix of "Caramell - Ooa Hela Natten" and writing and producing for Blue Monster, a project that may have been released in Asia [I say "may" because I don't have any information on their releases, only information on a planned release in 2002: "Edelmann and co-producer Theodore Zakaria completed an album for the Artist Blue Monster, which is to be released in Japan during 2002"].
Change of Appearance
The creators of Blue Monster changed the actual appearance of Blue Monster twice during recording before settling on the current 'design' that was included on promotional photographs and at the Web site. Below are a collection of photographs of the old Blue Monster. Which one do you prefer?
Boom Boom Bang Bang
The song "Boom Boom Bang Bang" was written by Nikvek Tek, and was originally used in Yumm Yumm's 2001 demo LP album. Nivek replaced his vocals with the Blue Monster vocals. There are currently plans for an official release of "Boom Boom Bang Bang" under Yumm Yumm.
Pata Pata & Music Video
A music video for Blue Monster's song "Pata Pata" was made in 2002, probably to accompany the album or single release which may or may not have happened. To download "Pata Pata", please check out our Music Videos section. The music video may be described as a bit more "adult" which is a shame considering the project was inititally aimed at children. While some are offended by the Blue Monster's obvious obsession with sex, and the large blue erection he supports throughout the video, others simply laugh it off, saying it "adds to the humour."
