Bubblegum Macho

In it's simplest terms, "Bubblegum Macho" simply refers to bubblegum dance artists whom are headed by males. In a genre dominated by women vocalists, male bubblegum dance artists are quite uncommon, hence giving them their very own sub-genre of Bubblegum Dance music.

One of the first examples of "Bubblegum Macho" comes from the music of Jonny Jakobsen, under the Dr. Bombay and Dr. Macdoo aliases. Jakobsen's music also falls under another Genre of Bubblegum dance music, "Bubblegum Satire."

Two examples of Bubblegum Macho are Günther and Machoman. Both artists, which display concepts of male shovinism, are lead by men, singing about how much they love themselves, and of course the many women who love them. However, Machoman and Günther are not perfect examples of Macho Bubblegum as they employ female vocalists to sing some of the lyrics and the chorus of their songs (for example, Günther & the Sunshine Girls).

John The Whistler is another unique example of Macho Bubblegum. All vocals in John The Whistler's songs are done by John himself, and he also incorporates his renowned 'whistling' which usually makes up at least half of the song.
