Bubblegum Dancer / Encyclopedia / Artists / Hit'n'Hide

Hit'n'Hide (sometimes written Hit 'n' Hide, Hit n Hide, or HitnHide) was a Traditional Bubblegum dance act from Denmark, released under the label Scandinavian Records. The members of the group are Jeanne C (Gitte Jeanne Christiansen), Morgan Jalsing (pictured), and Jens C. Ringdal and Sune Munkholm Pedersen (producers). Jeanne C left after the first album and was replaced by Christina S for the second album release.

The group was a project by Johnny Jam & Delgado, who have famously worked with Aqua, Daze and Me & My. The group is best known for their hit single "Space Invaders" which led them straight to number one in Scandinavia.

Jeanne C. also helped with the Miss Papaya project, supplying backing vocals for most of the songs on her debut album "Pink".

Space Invaders
The group is most well known for their single Space Invaders, which is a song about aliens and space exploration. The song spent six weeks at number one on the Danish singles chart. Hit'n'Hide also achieved platinum status and gold status for the album On A Ride. The Danish success story soon spread throughout Scandinavia with Top 5 and gold status in Norway and a Top 20 hit in Sweden (Space Invaders).

Jeanne & Morgan
Jeanne C. and Morgan are the main vocalists of Hit'n'Hide and appear on all of the promotional material, such as album art and in the music videos. Morgan has worked extensively throughout Europe as a DJ and is owner of a discotheque. Jeanne C had always dreamed of being a singer, with an ambition to maybe sing for as many as five or ten thousand people. Both members have always been obsessed with music.

Jeanne C left after the first album and was replaced by Christina S for the second album release.

Sundance
Sundance was released as a single in 1997. In 1998 Johnny Jam & Delgado remixed the song, and re-released the single. For full details on the Sundance singles, click here to view the Discography.

Change of Style
Like many Bubblegum dance groups, Hit'n'Hide changed their sound and image after their first album, moving away from the 'bubblegum' style of their first album to a harder, 'trancier' style. "Space Invaders" was also given a revamp, and a 2000 Remix by Leif Jensen was created for Hit'n'Hide's self-titled 2000 album, "Hit'n'Hide".

Hit'n'Hide's change of sound was not well received by fans, and consequently the 2000 has become very rare and hard to find. Two singles were released, "Kingdom Of Eternity" (1999) and "Come Come Come" (2000), the most successful being Come Come Come, which maintained some of their original bubblegum sound.

As well as a change of sound, Hit'n'Hide also changed the way they looked. Dropping the multicoloured hair and colourful makeup, the group focused on more plain colours, such as black and white - a colour scheme they hoped would give off a more professional look, rather than the tongue in cheek "childlike" connotations that their original look gave.
