 Kyle Ward (aliases: KaW, Smiley, KeeL) is a producer, songwriter and game developer from Vancouver, Washington, USA. Kyle is best known for his music in rhythm video games such as In The Groove and Pump It Up Pro.
Kyle is part of the Bubblegum Macho duo OSCILLATOR X along with John Mendenhall. Kyle and John also work together to produce COCONUT, a traditionally styled bubblegum dance act who is best known for her 2007 single "Ladybug".
Brief Biography
Kyle Ward's love for music was obvious since childhood, and at the age of five he began to demonstate his natural talents at piano. He soon intergrated his love for technology through keyboards, computers, and other forms of electronic instruments.
Kyle was the main music composer and sound producer of RoXoR Games' dance arcade series, In The Groove. In The Groove, as well its its sequel In The Groove 2, feature music from several of Kyle's aliases, including KaW, Inspector K, Smiley, Banzai, KBit, and Symphonius.
Kyle is essentially Roxor Games' analogous counterpart to Konami's Naoki Maeda, a composer who produces songs for use the Bemani line of rhythm games. Both produced a significant proportion of the songs for their respective games, and both do so under a variety of pseudonyms which change depending on the style of the music.
In 2006, Kyle announced that he has moved on from RoXoR to Andamiro, where he has participated in the development of Pump It Up Pro. Currently he is involved in the development of the new dance game iDance.
