Baarbie Q (Barbie-Q as it is sometimes written, and shortened as "BBQ") was a Bubblegum dance-pop project from Germany. Created by Kjell Gabriel Henriksen, the project featured the two vocalists Tommy and Lisette (pictured).

Baarbie Q released two singles in their years active, which have both become very rare. They are Oh Mama (released in 2000) and Dance Through The Night (2001). The song Oops Up Ibiza was also included on the Dance Through The Night single, as well as an alternative version to the song, "Gay Through The Night".

Baarbie Q's singles were released in 2000 and 2001 under Stonehenge Media.

Biography from Website

The following biography was taken from Baarbie Q's official Website, www.baarbieq.de, now defunct. The original text has been translated from German:

The 22-year-old Cuban Lisette worked in Camagüey (Cuba) as an actress and dance teacher. There she took part in several national singing competitions, had considerable success there and won, among other things, the "Benny More Bolero" festival prize.

She played, danced and choreographed in several theaters and became so well known that she was no stranger beyond the sugar island. There she also taught 23-year-old dancer Tommy. He previously worked as a model and animator at various vacation spots and decided to pursue a career as a professional dancer. He spent one year at the renowned "Co Dance Studios" in Los Angeles.

In 1999 Lisette and Tommy met again in Germany. There they continued their artistic collaboration. The well-known producer team Why-T & Roy Fires was immediately enthusiastic about both of them, recorded a song with them, and only ran open doors.

We'll hear a few more hits from them. Certainly!

2009 releases

In 2009 Baarbie Q released two singles digitally under the German label "Spectre." It's unknown whether the two songs, "Save Your Kisses for Me" and "Que Sera, Sera" were released previously around 2000/2001, or if they had remained in an archive until 2009. Interestingly, Baarbie Q's other singles were not made available on digital platforms with the new songs.
