Biography

Elif Cesmeli was born on 14 November 1987 in Stockholm, Sweden. Her stage name, Chezelle, is derived from her first and last name. Even as a child, Chezelle was eager to perform for family and friends, and always liked to be the center of attention. Chezelle inherited an interest in music from her father Fikret Cesmeli, who is also a musician and actor.

Her musical education includes attending the Adolf Fredrik music school and then Södra Latins gymnasium professional musicians line. Besides music, dance has always been in her heart. Since age 10 she danced in her spare time. In the 2000s, she was also part of a theatrical / musical group with performances in such City Hall, the Blue Hall.

When Chezelle was 19, she moved to New York City to pursue a music and acting career. When success did not arrive at the pace that she had hoped for, she became homesick and moved back home to Stockholm after 19 months. When her music career did not really take off, she decided to pursue a civilian career and grabbed a graduate education at the university.

By chance, Chezelle met Teddy Gustafsson (Sweden Music Entertainment | Yummie/project/">Yummie) and Ulf Larsson during the spring of 2011 through her mother, who knew they were looking for a new artist to their songs. After listening to a couple of them, she decided to focus on music again. In cooperation music has received new "clothes" to fit Chezelle and she has as had greater influence in creating their own sound.
