Caramella Girls' mini album ''Mums Mums''!
Posted on December 12, 2022 by Mitch Andrews
Caramella Girls is back with a surprise release before Christmas, the mini album "Mums Mums" released December 9th. "Mums Mums" is Swedish for "yummy" or "nom nom" as we might know in English, and is also a reference to the popular Swedish chocolate "Mums-Mums". And of course the girls' haven't disappointed!
While two of the songs are the previously released "Boop Boy" and Blue Monster cover "Take A Ride", the other 5 songs are all original tracks, and I'm absolutely THRILLED with them all! My favourites are "I Won't Let You Go" (awesome production which is reminiscent of Cascada), the cheeky "Tutti Frutti Lover", and "Love Me Baby". I'm hoping one of these will be their next single and they will include a remix or extended version for the fans.
The producers behind this project are now clearly Vasco & Millboy from Caramell, who wrote all of the songs on this mini album (including "Take A Ride" which was originally written for Blue Monster back in 2002). I wonder if some of these songs are Caramell leftovers, or if they wrote them all fresh for Caramella Girls. Either way, I think they have really cemented Caramella Girls' style, and the vocals are MUCH less high pitched which I think works so much better than their earlier tracks.
It's interesting that they didn't include "Shufflelosophy", "Venezia", "Valentine" and "Samurai" on this album, as those 4 tracks would have bumped it up to 11 tracks, making it a full album. They also wouldn't have been out of place on the album as the production and styles are similar. Perhaps it had something to do with licensing as all 7 of the tracks on "Mums Mums" were written by Vasco & Millboy, while those 4 earlier songs were penned by different artists (just a theory).
I'm absolutely loving the direction Caramella Girls has gone in, as prior to this year, while I was a fan (Lollipop and Saw You Standin There were fantastic), I didn't LOVE their over-the-top high-pitched vocals... but I think Vasco & Millboy have finally perfected the Caramella Girls style, slowed down the tempo and "normalised their vocals a bit" and are onto something truly great. I hope "Mums Mums" does really well and they continue to release great songs. I'm hoping they might release a limited CD run, perhaps a full-length feature album with all their greatest hits... wouldn't that be something? :D
"Mums Mums" feels like a love letter to fans of bubblegum dance music. Be sure to support this mini album and all of Caramella Girls' other music by streaming their music on Apple Music and Spotify, and of course purchasing on iTunes and other digital music stores! Caramella Girls is the only bubblegum dance project alive and kicking in 2022, and let's make sure we keep it alive!
Caramella Girls' new single ''Valentine''
Posted on February 21, 2021 by Mitch Andrews
Caramella Girls recently released a new single for Valentine's Day titled "Valentine". The style of the song is very different from their usual bubblegum dance, and can be compared to 2000's R&B/pop songs.
What do you think of the new song? Do you want Caramella Girls to release more music like this? Personally, we would prefer if they stuck to their bubblegum dance formula, but this is an interesting twist.
Caramella Girls producers, if you are reading this, for the next single can you please make the vocals less high-pitched? The girls are fantastic singers and we would like to be able to hear their real voices, like in the ballad "How Can You Say Goodbye". Thank you for keeping this project going, it really does bring so much joy!

Caramella Girls new single ''Back In My Life''
Posted on November 6, 2020 by Mitch Andrews
Caramella Girls is back with a new single today, "Back In My Life," a cover of Alice Deejay's hit song.
It's wonderful to see Caramella Girls are releasing new tunes as we thought perhaps the project had come to a conclusion with the release of their album "Sweet Decade" at the beginning of the year. Hopefully Caramella Girls will continue to pump out more great bubblegum dance tunes!
Caramella Girls releases album
Posted on February 15, 2020 by Mitch Andrews
Caramella Girls today released a digital album collection of the songs released in the last decade, aptly titled "Sweet Decade."
The release is Caramella Girls first album, and is a collection of all of their singles released since 2011. Not included on the album is the English version of their most famous song "Caramelldansen," which was released in 2008 and therefore doesn't fit the theme of the album.
Caramella Girls release two new singles
Posted on December 13, 2019 by Mitch Andrews
Caramella Girls have been very busy in the studio, with the release of two new singles, "Lollipop" and "Wish Upon a Star" released under a month apart.
The new original compositions are high energy, fantastic bubblegum dance tunes, with Lollipop, in particular, taking our heart. The girls sing about how they are standing up for their right to be original, and calling out any copycats who attempt to take their style/lollipop. Are there copycat groups trying to copy Caramella Girls? While we love the girls, we definitely encourage more artists to try this style, there simply isn't enough of it in the world these days!
"Wish Upon a Star" is Caramella Girls go at a Christmas tune, and we definitely aren't disappointed. The three-track single also includes a super fun speedy mix by Vasco (for those who didn't know was one of the original members and producers of Caramell. Vasco's remix also reveals that Vasco is probably the secret producer behind the Caramella Girls project, and along with songwriter Kim Andrea Arnesen, has been keeping it alive all these years. We commend you and thank you for continuing to make this bubbly ear candy for all of us to listen to.
Caramella Girls release new ballad
Posted on February 27, 2019 by Mitch Andrews
Caramella Girls has released a brand new song, this time a ballad titled "How Can You Say Goodbye."
The release of a slow song comes as a big surprise for the group, who has become known for it's annual release of high-speed bubblegum dance tunes, which milk the success of their sped-up cover of "Caramelldansen" in 2008.
"How Can You Say Goodbye" is a sombre breakup tuned penned by Kim Andre Arnesen and Kristian Lagerström. The song is actually very beautiful song but indeed a very random release for Caramella Girls. The release of "How Can You Say Goodbye" marks the group's 11th track, which in the tradition of bubblegum groups is enough songs to make an album release.
New Caramella Girls song ''Saw You Standin' There''
Posted on March 12, 2018 by Mitch Andrews
Caramella Girls released the new single "Saw You Standin' There" in mid February this year. The song is a wonderful traditional bubblegum song written by Kristian Lagerström & Kim Andre Arnesen (who also wrote the majority of their latest singles).
It's great to see Caramella Girls back almost yearly with a new single release as at the moment they are one of the only active bubblegum projects to be releasing new music (along with Dolly Style). Make sure you buy the new single and support the project so they continue to pump out more awesome traditional bubblegum tracks in the future.
Also, apologies for the late news post, I have been having some computer issues and have just got it back up and running, so will be catching up on updates over the next couple of weeks.
New tropical song from Caramella Girls
Posted on May 24, 2017 by Mitch Andrews
Caramella Girls, the high-pitched off spring of Caramell, has released a new single yesterday titled "Holiday."
The new song has a tropical bubblegum flavour, and is a slower tempo compared to their previous releases. However, the tune still has their signature high-pitched vocals and is like a refreshing dip in the pool after their lackluster Barbie Girl remake in 2015, "Candy Girl."
Caramella Girls is one of the only current bubblegum dance artists with semi-regular releases (though it's been over a year since their last song was released). Please support Caramella Girls new song by purchasing it on iTunes.
Caramella Girls release Barbie Girl remake
Posted on January 3, 2016 by Mitch Andrews
Caramella Girls sneakily released a new song on Boxing Day 2015, a cover of Aqua's famous song "Barbie Girl," called "Candy Girl."

Caramella Girls' "Candy Girl" has slightly altered lyrics to the original, though the girls are still loving life in plastic, and instead of falling in love with Ken, they're chasing Ben.
The single came as a huge surprise, since Caramella Girls' official Facebook page makes no mention of the single (or various other singles since Tokyo in 2014), suggesting that the page is not being updated. However, it is great to see that the Caramella Girls project is still going strong, with new songs being released every few months.

Caramella Girls Listens to Criticism
Posted on January 10, 2013 by Mitch Andrews
Caramella Girls, who released their new single "We Love To Party" at the beginning of the year, have listened to fan's criticism that the songs vocals are too high pitched, and have now re-released a new version of the song.
The new version of the song seems to have positive reviews by fans, who are pleased with the lower pitch vocals. The girls no longer sound like chipmunks, and the pitch is much closer to their previous single "Boogie Bam Dance."
Caramella Girls has re-released the new version of their song on iTunes, replacing it with the original version.
New Caramella Girls single

Caramella Girls are back in 2013 with a brand new single, "We Love To Party."
The song is a slight move away from the bubblegum dance genre, and the vocals are even higher pitched than usual (to the point where they almost sound like chipmunks). However, Caramella Girls still maintains the high energy dance style they had with "Boogie Bam Dance."
