Daze is a Danish Group consisting of two males and one female.  “Super Heroes” debuted in 1997 and was very popular.  Some people don’t like Daze very much because the lead singer’s voice is not in the squeaky style of most Bubblegum acts such as Aqua and Bambee.  Trine’s voice has a more mature tone.  I find it to be a refreshing change for Bubblegum music.  Daze has a sound that no one has ever done before or after.  It’s a fabulous album with many hit songs.

Superhero
This is the title track and is one of their most popular songs.  The fast beats and catchy tunes keep you’re your head bobbing for the entire song.  It has inventive scats (ie. “Umbopa ayah ayah um bopa yo”), interesting vocal synths (ie. “Superlover, Superlover”) and the amazing voice of Trine.  It creates one of the best songs on the album.

Call Girl
This is one of those songs that begins so strong with the spine tingling trance tunes and a beat to tap your feet to.  The Chorus is totally catchy and the fast “do-do-do-do-do-do-dooos” accent it perfectly.  The only thing that bothers me with this song is the “Sugar Honey bunch”, but that’s a pet peeve.  This is another strong one from Daze.

Together Forever (The Cyber Pet Song)
This song is a little out there, but it grew on me pretty quickly.  The synth beats are perfect yet again.  The vocal scat is creative.  The way they pronounce “Tamagotchi” has always been a turn off, but perhaps that’s how they say it in Europe.  The composition is good and the Tamagotchi voice is funny.  It’s a very unique song.

Be My Lover
Trine’s voice sounds so amazing in this song.  The echoes highlight the vocal quality and make the song sound more mystic.  This song is not as fancy in the background beats but it doesn’t need them, it stands on its own.  It’s another favorite track of mine.

In the Middle of the Night
This is a slower track.  Although it doesn’t hold the same energy as the other songs it still has that dance sound.  Trine’s voice sounds good.  This song isn’t as catchy as some of the others, but it’s still pretty dang good!

Toy Boy
This is another song where I really like the scats.  It seems to be a nice trend with Daze.  Background music is upbeat and creative.  The male voice saying “Toy Boy” is nicely synthed-out.  This one is another of my favorite songs.

Tic Toc
This is Daze’s attempt at the Clock theme.  I like the Peter Pan reference.  Trine’s harmonies are always nice and clean.  The refrain is beautiful with the harmony and the effects to boot.  The children singing at the end is a nice way to end it.

Sea of Love
I like how this song showcases Trine’s lower register.  The fast beats constitute a Floorfiller!  But it’s also perfect to listen to in the confines of your bedroom.  It’s a surprise winner very near to the end of the album.

Antonio
I don’t like this song very much.  The beats and singing are good, but I feel the writing was weak.  One mediocre song in an album is still pretty impressive.

Land of the Living
This song is so unique!  I can’t think of any other song that takes an evil theme and executes it so well.  The way that Trine uses her lower register makes her sound so dead!  The spoken parts only add to the eerie greatness of the song, it feels like a story.  This is probably my favorite song on the album.

I have no complaints about this album.  It has at least 75% songs that make me feel like closing my eyes and just singing.  This album really shows me why I love Daze so much. I can listen to the entire album without skipping a single song (even Antonio).  The track order is perfectly set up.  It takes you on a musical journey from the peppy to relaxed and on till you can’t help but dance!
