B-Jeans from Estonia are probably best known for the song “Ei Saa”. In 2004, they released the song “Ma Olen Noor” on a compilation called Elmari Tantsuõhtu 4. Other songs released on compilations in 2004 include "Kui Tahad Mind", "Kui Maailm Ringi Käib", "Kui Tormid On Möödas", and "Varjude Mäng". Interestingly, four of the five songs released this year were all based on songs produced by David Brandes (E-Rotic, Bad Boys Blue, Missing Heart).

A year later, they released the album “Oota Veel” in 2005, on the label Records 2000. The new album included 13 tracks and 2 remixes, but “Ma Olen Noor” was absent. B-Jeans had no further releases after “Oota Veel”, which suggests the project is likely abandoned.

Band History

The following was translated an Estonian forum post, and presumably originated from the band's now-defunct website. The translation was performed by Google Translate and altered for grammar.

B-jeans consist of three members: Irina Ojasalu (25), Kerli Järve (21), and Tarmo Adamson (26). The band started in 2003, at the beginning of summer. In collaboration with executive producer Peter Kaljuste and Records 2000, they recorded their first songs. These songs include "Varjude Mäng”, released as a promo single, which was an Estonian hit in 2004; “Ma Olen Noor", released on Elmari Tantsuõhtu 4; and “Kui Tahad Mind”, released on Talvehitt 2004 and Õige Valik 2004.

The band has been putting a lot of emphasis on stage movement. Originally, the band's choreography was set by Helja Asa ("Varjude Mäng", "Kui Tahad Mind", "Kerge Mäng" (formerly known as “Don't Go Away") and "Sinuga Noor"). Our new choreographer is DanceAct cheerleader coach Alissa Shmerling.

Initially, Kerli and Irina were the only members. Since at that time, Estonia's music market had a number of bands consisting of girls, the idea was to find one young man. Finding the young man turned out to be more difficult than originally imagined. The first turned out to be a member in the summer, Uku, who sang in the first two songs. Unfortunately, due to his studies with the Georg Ots Music School and performances in various musicals, Uku was forced to leave the band. After the departure of Uku, a couple of young men passed the test, but we chose Asko Tasal. Asko made their first hits, but Asko also left the band and we welcomed our newest member, Tarmo Adamson.

Cover versions

Various tracks on the album are covers of other songs, complete with the backing track of the original song.

In 2012, the website The Guardian chose “Ei Saa” as a top example of pop from Estonia.
