Solid Base
Solid Base is a predominantly eurodance act from Sweden made up of members Isabelle Heitman (vocalist) and Thomas Nordin (or Teo T) (rapper). The project was created by producers Mattias Eliasson & Jonas Eriksson.
During their years active, Solid Base experimented with the bubblegum dance genre, and several songs made it onto their various albums. Probably the most true to the genre is "I Do," a sugary piece about a girl missing her lover. In the song, Isabelle uses a more high pitched "cutesy girl" vocal style, and the production is much softer with a simple chorus and synth driven instrumental.
Other bubblegum dance songs produced by Solid Base include the very Vengaboys-inspired song "Sha La Long" and "This Is How We Do It" which both featured on their 1999 album "Express." An earlier song "Mirror Mirror" also has some bubblegum dance elements, mostly due to its cheesy topic, but is primarily considered a eurodance song by most fans.
