Vanessa (real name Iva Runjic) is a contemporary Bubblegum dance singer from Croatia, best known for her songs "Lose Lazes Lujbavi", "Kiss" and "U Meni Je Vrag". She released the album "U Meni Je Vrag" in Croatia during 1996.

Vanessa's uncle is Zednko Runjic, a popular singer in Croatia.

Vanessa's career began around 1995 when she was signed to the record label Croatia Records. During this time, she recorded a duet with the band Srebrna Krila called "Ljubavi Je Za Ljude Sve" in 1995 that was featured in a festival. During 1996, she began recording her debut album called "U Meni Je Vrag". Also during 1996, she was featured in two duets with Velina called "Hej Ti", which was performed in the Split Festival in 1996 and "Ljubavi Do Neba", which was performed in Arenafest, also in 1996. Velina was also featured on Vanessa's album, singing with her and their producer and popular Croatian singer Daniel Popovic called "Kiss". Another of Vanessa's producers and managers, Borus Suput, is featured on her song "Dizem Vam Tlak". Later that year, her debut album called "U Meni Je Vrag" was released in Croatia. The album was a great mix of Euro styled song with a Bubblegum sound and even a Bubblegum lyric structure. It is unknown if any music videos were filmed for this album's release.

The album was not successful in Croatia and no more releases are known to have come from Vanessa after 1996, possibly due to low sales of the first album. It is also possible that this album was not popular due to it's apparent lack of promotion.

Very little is known about Vanessa's career and very little is known about her personally. It is unknown if she will return to the music business in the future.

Rumours

There were rumors of a song by Vanessa from 1995 called "Cherie Cherie", a possible cover of Velina's 1995 hit song "Sherry, Sherry", which was a possibility, as Velina and Vanessa had performed and recorded songs together before. Her record label Croatia Records, however, confirmed to a fan that Vanessa never recorded a song under their record label called "Cherie Cherie", however, it's still a small possibility that this song could've been recorded elsewhere.
