Bo & Monica
Bo & Monica is a bubblegum dance duo from the Netherlands. It stars the two vocalists and dancers Noi Pakon (Bo) and Ingrid Jansen (Monica).
Bo & Monica's official Web site was located, through out 2006 and 2007, at: www.bo-monica.nl. The official site has now been taken offline, to suggest that Bo & Monica has been disbanded.
Brief History
The name "Bo & Monica" originates from the personages who the two play in the television serial Topstars. In March 31st 2006 they brought out their first single "Gonna Be A Star". Gonna Be A Star was very successful in the Netherlands, making #4 in Mega Top 100 and #10 on the Dutch charts, where it stayed for 5 weeks. The next single, "This Is How We Party" was released on the 25th of August. This is How We Party was supported by a commercial-break - campagne on TV. Their final single "Please Please Santa" was released in 2006, and reached #32 in the Dutch charts, staying there for only 2 weeks.
A music video was made for each of Bo & Monica's singles, This Is How We Party, Gonna Be A Star, and Please Please Santa.
Unreleased Songs
Several songs were recorded by Bo & Monica, including three that were never released but were published to YouTube when the girls performed them live. These songs are "S.O.S," "Shangrila" and "Radio" which is a cover of the Dolly Dots hit from 1979.
Disbanded
An album may have been planned for Bo & Monica, but was dropped when the project suddenly disbanded after the release of their third single. Reason for the breakup is unknown, though lack of sales may have played a part in the decision.
As a result, the album which was being planned for release was scrapped, and to this day the recorded songs remain unreleased. Hopefully one day those great recordings may see a digital release on iTunes and get the attention they deserve.
