Dr. Macdoo is the second bubblegum alias of Jonny Jakobsen, and is best known for the songs "Under The Kilt" and "Macahula Dance." The Dr. Macdoo project was created by Jakobsen after Dr. Bombay, with the promotional concept that he is Dr. Bombay's Scottish cousin.

Musical Style

Like Dr. Bombay, Dr. Macdoo's music is aimed at parodying Scottish heritage. Macdoo follows the same silly formula, with catchy hooks and nonsensical lyrics. His sound also makes use of instruments such as bagpipes, flutes, and other instruments which can be seen as being typical of Scottish culture.

Critical Response

Many fans feel that the standard of Dr. Macdoo's songs are not as high as Dr. Bombay's, even though they are produced by many of the same artists who made the Bombay album. Fans criticise that Jakobsen was just working off the fame of Dr. Bombay to experiment with a new alias, and rushed to publish a new album. It is unknown why Jakobsen decided to change his name to Macdoo and start afresh, but regardless Dr. Macdoo pumped out several hits and his music was well received in Sweden.
